Gladio's sweet attention plus the lingering lethargy from their earlier sex left Ignis worn out, so once he'd heard Gladio's 'plans', he murmured his agreement then allowed himself to doze for a while, idly shifting off and on while his body worked to get as comfortable as it could with that thick length still tied to him.

Gladio actually did fall asleep, comfortable in his lover's arms and how he can hear his heartbeat. He does eveantually soften enough to slip out,but Gladio waits until it he can do it with ease it prevent anymore pain to his love.

Cleaning then up takes a while, but Gladio was well prepared for this situation (And Six, did he never want to have a conversation about how to take care of his mate in heat with his dad and the elder were doctor ever again.) He gets them cleaned up with a portable shower amd they only lose two blankets to blood and other body fluids that has to be taken from the pile, and he still had more in the car.

"What are ya hungry for, babe?" Gladio calls out as Ignis redresses in the tent. He had chosen to stick wirh only his pants, and there are even plenty of his shirts his mate could snag as well. "I got sandwiches, cup noodle... Some rabbit food for salad too, whatever you want "

Ignis woke feeling rested and sated, though the latter was just barely. Still, it was enough to let him get cleaned up (including huffing at Gladio that he could clean himself up thank you very much, though he didn't exactly tell his mate to stop and find something to wear. Pants, of course, and casual ones for him at that, but instinct pushed him toward Gladio's clothing and sure enough, when he stepped out of the tent to shoot Gladio a sidelong stare, he was sporting one of the Shield's tank tops. It was loose on his slim frame, but he didn't mind one bit. Not right then.

"Did you seriously just offer me Cup Noodle? That's barely food, Gladio."

Ignis might note that Gladio was being a little more 'helpful' than usual- The man does love to spoil and take care of Ignis on a regular basis, but there is sokething different about this. Something he was unconsciously trying to prove. It is courting behavior, but he hasn't seemed to put that thought together yet.

Of course, their natural rhythm of being together always takes precedence.

"Iggy," He says emphatically, once he can shake the dumbstruck feeling of pride in seeing his usually well put together lover in his shirt. "It's Cup Noodle. Basically the perfect camping food."

But he is grinning, obviously joking as he opens his arms to tell his mate to come join him, free ro kiss him as he pleased without worry of anyone watching.

He was still grumbling quietly as he moved to join Gladio, tucking himself firmly into his mate's arms. He hadn't pinned down that Gladio was courting him, but hells, he hadn't pinned down most of the behaviors and instincts yet. Since his first shift, he'd poured over all the books he could find on weres but they were truly few and far between. Were society and teaching young weres all seemed to fall to their families and that was something passed down from generation to generation. This was all something that Gladio would be expected to teach his children, not his partner.

The thought of a salad made him inwardly frown. Usually, he enjoyed the fresh aspect of them but right then, it just sounded unappealing.

"...maybe with an egg and some fresh meat to add to it. I might consider eating it then."

Gladio rumbles happily as Ignis scoots into his arms, one hand settling at his hip to gently massage at muscles which are surely sore. He doesn't mind at all teaching Ignis what he knows- Well, when he can recognize it himself.

"Whatever you want, you can have it." Gladio had packed enough food for the trip. But with their increased appetites they might want to hunt. They haven't been gone long enough for their cooler to get too warm, and he has some ice spells packed just in case. "I'll start the fire, do you wanna cook up the grub?"

It wasn't all that different from other times they'd been out camping, even if that usually meant having Noctis and Prompto with them. Gladio always set things up and Ignis always cooked for everyone. It was just how things were and he wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe his desire to take care of everyone was some long buried nurturing instinct just recently revealed, but right then, cooking sounded like a good idea.

"Don't I always?"

""You do, and you do it well."

Gladio smiles and kisses his lover once more before he lets him out of his arms, fussing over the setup so they can happily eat. Dinner passes by without incident, though he notices Ignis uses more meat for the Cup Noodle than usual. Likely because of his instincts, but Gladio doesn't mind any changes at all.

"Nice night out." The stars above them are bright away from the city lights, and he can feel his were side content by it, able to see through the darkness much better than with human eyes. "Don't see any Daemons out either."

Meat just sounded good, okay? At least, that what he would've said if he'd been questioned about it. In truth, the additional meat was satisfying, even if he idly wished it'd been a bit fresher. Once they were done, he took it upon himself to clean up, though his attention was clearly divided between his lover and his task.

Once things were settled, he settled himself beside his mate, his gaze drifting off into the dark around them. He hadn't noticed just how good his newly changed vision was until now. Insomnia was beautiful at night, but the city lights and the protections of the Crystal blocked out a lot of the natural starlight, but out there, there was nothing blocking it.

He could see everything and he was entranced. It might make Gladio's were content, but it made his antsy.

"... it's incredible. I've never seen anything like it."

Gladio has been synched with the full moon for over a decade, and while he feels content, he can understand his mate's restlessness. There is a whole new part of him now awakened, and it is going to take time to learn how it works.

He scoots in closer to his mate, leaning against his side. He might have even put his head in Iggy's lap and laid down, but he has a better idea.

"Bet Noct would love it. Maybe we can all come out this far together someday."

But, until then...

A good run under the moon-

Even as Gladio said the words, he as thinking them. His heightened senses painted the world in a new light and Ignis, even trying to find his footing as a newly made were, was thirsty for knowledge wherever he could find it. He'd wanted to know everything since he was a young child and now that he could smell and see and hear things so much clearer now, there was more to learn. More to do.

Not looking away from the dark world spread around them, he took in a slow breath as if tasting the air.

"... it's so tempting."

Gladio considers carefully. He is strong, no doubt, and Ignis is smart even caught up in his new senses. They have access to their weapons through Noctis, so if any daemons show up...

"As long as we stay in eyesight of the haven, we should be okay. You can outrun anything as a were, and I'll be by your side."

As Gladio spoke, Ignis' gaze turned toward him. The vivid green of his eyes stood out in the warm firelight and showed just how much of himself was already edging to his were side.

"And if I keep running?"

Gladio smiles, wider than normal. Teeth white and prominent in the same way Ignis' eyes shone right now. His beautiful, beautiful mate.

"Then I would have to hunt you down, wouldn't I?"

Instead of a threat, however, it seems more of an invitation, letting Ignis know he can let go to his were side. And Gladio, in the way he has learned to soothe the man, will take control.

That smile was something that used to unnerve him. Now, it sent a different kind of shiver along his nerves and a wicked smirk to his lips in answer.

Shifting the second time was easier simply because he wasn't trying to fight it out of fear. It still made his bones ache and his head swim for a few moments while he reoriented himself. Out here, the air smelled richer and the dark was something he could easily conquer, so after a quick, slim muzzled grin at his mate he trotted off, knowing that Gladio wouldn't be far behind.

Watching Ignis easily shift out of his clothes, Gladio's shirt included, makes him shiver with want. Gladio is logically aware that he wants Ignis because he considers him his mate, but this trip is also intimate in its own way, and all the new things Ignis was experiencing were changing him down to his hormones. Hopefully most of that will settle so his lover can be in a meeting without Gladio trying to tear other were's heads off for even just looking at him...

He lets the thought go for now, instead following suit to change, leaving the safety of the haven to follow Ignis. Being out here like this was nice, and he feels confident in being able to help his lover through it.

Looking at Ignis, his tail wags slightly, before a low bark escapes him and he breaks out into a run, encouraging him to follow.

The bark pulled his attention away from the sky he'd been staring up into so intently. There was a moment of hesitation before he took off after Gladio, each strike of his feet against the ground damn near silent. Even on four feet, he was quiet and quick. It took just a few moments for him to catch up to Gladio, tongue lolling in clear enjoyment of just being out and able to stretch his new legs.

Ignis looks grand running next to him like this, and Gladio can't help but feel a bust of pride at such. Hos footfalls should be heavy and thundering, bur at this pace Gladio seems to be light footed.

He keeps the haven in the corner oc his eye, when they get nearly too far shifting his direction to circle around it instead. A few times in their run Gladio can see the beginnings of emerging daemons, but the two of them are faster than them. What does interest hin are some garula tracks he find cross their path, and he slows down into a stop to sniff at them happily,

Ignis followed suit, nose to the ground with a low rumble. Everything smelled so damned good to him right then. Another quick snuffle of the tracks and his head was back up, vivid eyes peering off into the dark night. There was a quick wash of ichor from a nearby daemon, but there was no chittering or other sound and daemons were anything but quiet. Most likely a dead daemon, though, or the greasy remains of one.

Ignis had to check it out, more daring than his usual caution would push him to be. A quick chuff and he was off again, melting into the dark like a silver shadow.

Gladio continues to sniff out the tracks, tucking away the direction for when morning came. Ignis would surely enjoy learning to hunt later in his new form.

He almost misses his mate slipping away, and his head whips around to see hip slipping i to the darkness. A low noise rumbles in his throat, calling him back, but at the same time Gladio does trot off after him. He does not want to let the man go too far off this time of night, considering the daemons had free roam.

There was no sign that Ignis heard Gladio as he padded off, but once he realized that Gladio was following him, he sped up. He had no idea why, but something was driving him on into the night. Maybe it was instinct and maybe it was something as simple as making sure the daemon filth he smelled really wasn't a danger. He had no idea.

Ignis does not seem to hear him, but Gladio works to catch up to him as fast he can. With his eyes a bright amber he tracks the quickly moving silver figure ahead of him as Ignis moves faster. Gladio can feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, all of his senses zeroing in on Ignis...Waiting, just waiting for a move.

When it come, Gladio doesn't waste time breaking into a flat our run, sweeping in toward the other at a wide angle to herd him into the correct direction.

Right then, Ignis was lost in his instincts. All he knew was that something was chasing him, trying to herd him in and he didn't like it one bit. Rumbling his displeasure low in his throat, he sped up as much as he could with his still unfamiliar legs, angling himself away from Gladio as much as he could manage.

Gladio realizes Ignis is running from him, and this isn't great at all, especially so late at night. Moving faster his feet pound the dirt below him to catch up, forcing Ignis to veer back to the haven as he howls at the othee, asserting his dominance and assuring him of his presence both.

That howl earned Gladio a low snarl as he veered out again, trying to get away from the intrusive presence of his partner. In the mixed up mind of his, he saw Gladio as a domineering threat right then and he didn't want to go back. He wanted to run, and keep running until his lungs burst and his legs gave out.

How dare he keep trying to rein him in?

If Gladio got close enough, he'd see that Ignis' teeth were bared in an unhappy snarl, and any closer and those same teeth would snap at him in annoyance.
