It wasn't uncommon for Ignis to be out late at night. Between his work and keeping an eye on his charge, nights were definitely something he was used to, though most would say he was a creature better suited to the sunlight. Most of the time, he just offered those that dared say anything a cool stare and his back as he moved on past them. It wasn't really him being rude. He simply didn't have the time for such silliness. Not when there were always things to do.

On nicer nights, he would walk himself home from Noctis' and tonight was no different. The moon was close to being full, if not already full, and the night was pleasantly warm. The walk might be longer than most would like, but he enjoyed the chance to have some peace and quiet while mulling over the business of the day. Court politics could anger the calmest among them and the chance to think things through had left Ignis better able to handle such things.

It is a nice night out, even Gladio is enjoying it, despite feeling tight in his own skin. It's normal for him around this time of mouth, and while he usually retreats during the evenings of the full moon, it has been a very long week for both him and his partner, Ignis. He's barely seen the other during the day, crashing beside him in bed when they do make it home that day and comparing notes about work when that can. However, ever a romantic, he's confident enough in knowing his own limits that he can sneak at least a few moments away.

He's catching up to Ignis at a fast trot, calls out to the other when he gets close. The grin on his face is wide and a little more toothy than usual, canines prominent so close to the full moon.

"Mind a tagalong?"

He can't stay the night obviously, at least that's the way Gladio has always done it during the full moon, but it's nice to see Ignis not in the middle of a council meeting.

As if he could resist that kind of offer. Most days, he saw Gladio in passing even if that meant curling up beside him in bed and even then, only to sleep. Their lives had become hectic most of the time so the chance to do something so simple with his partner, even just a walk, was something Ignis would jump at the chance for.

"As if you had to ask. I'm on my way home and I don't have to be back at the Citadel for eight whole hours. I'm considering that a victory."

As he spoke, he settled in beside Gladio, his pace absently falling in with his love's as if it were the most natural thing ever.

"Sounds like a hell of a victory to me. I'll walk you back that way."

Not that Ignis needs an escort, but this busy time is killer and even just this makes him happy, especially when Gladio knows he will be spending the next three nights big and hairy and howling at the moon.

It's a little frustrating that Ignis free time comes right now, but Gladio's an adult, he can deal with it. For now however, he slides and arm loosely around the man, hand st the small of his back and walking by close.

"A whole eight hours huh. What in the world are you gonna do with all that time?"

Ignis knew full well what time it was and he knew that his time with Gladio would likely be cut short soon. The frustration was felt on both sides, but he knew that the real burden was on Gladio at times like this. He missed his lover when he was gone, but he'd been told it was for the best.

That didn't mean he wasn't tempted at times to ask him to forgo his isolation and just stay with him. Ignis was no stranger to dealing with weres and their tempers. While he wasn't one himself, he had enough weird blood in his veins that he'd developed enough gifts of his own that allowed him to help settle some of the foulest of tempers and while he hadn't tested it on someone during a full shift, he'd admit to some curiosity if he could.

For now, he let himself lean against Gladio's warmth, sighing softly as he let his eyes drift closed for a moment.

"A good shower and some sleep, mostly. I'd take a bath, but I think I might doze off in the tub and it wouldn't do for Noct's adviser to meet his end by drowning. Will you be staying tonight?"

It feels good just doing this, Gladio knows part of it is his brain trying to convince himself that staying is a good idea, that he will have Ignis alone to himself for the first time in ages and... Well, he knows why he shouldn't, but convincing himself is hard to do.

" 'M nearly half-changed now. If I stay you might have to pry me off you." He says lightly, but it's not an uncommon occurrence to hear about. Werewolfs are protective of their mates.

"Don't think that would do for your plan of sleeping at all, Iggy, as much as I'd like to."

And the wistful tone in his voice says he's really, really like to.

That wistful tone tugs at Ignis' nerves and without thinking, he let himself lean in a bit closer, turning his head enough to nuzzle along Gladio's shoulder before he tucked himself in as close as he could manage and still walk. Such open affection isn't something he'd dare go for around the Citadel, but the streets were almost empty and that made Ignis feel vaguely daring.

"I want you to stay. I can make do on less sleep if I need to. We both know that."

Gladio all but shudders, Ignis nuzzling him, all his skin sensitive at the moment. It's rare on top of that that he can ever deny Ignis anything-Not that the other asks much from him often anyway, making it all that harder to resist.

"Iggy..." His arm tightens around the other, and he tilts his head down to press a kiss to anywhere he can reach, his lover's scent intoxicating. "Okay. But If I get too much for you, you knock me out, okay? Make me a promise."

Because the last thing he wants is to hurt Ignis, and they both know he'll never forgive himself if he goes overboard.

"I'll be fine."

And he would be. Ignis might look frail to those that really didn't know him, but anyone that did knew better. He was all trim muscle, lean to the point of being wiry, but he was tough and resilient and he knew he could handle whatever Gladio gave him. He hadn't failed so far, after all.

Of course, there was no promise other than his reassurance that he'd be fine. The last thing he wanted to do was have to subdue his lover, especially when he knew that rational thought wasn't likely his strong point.

"You can't tell me you haven't thought about it before. I know I have."

Of course Ignis would be fine. Gladio doesn't think there is anything that can slow him down, but that doesn't help the worry of the threat coming from himself. Normally he'd object at such a weak attempt to sidestep his promise, but his brain has been on the fritz and just the low murmmrrs of those words Ignis says screeches all of that to a halt.

Gladio swallows hard, lust flooding over his tongue. Of course he's though about it, sec with Ignis is amazing. Being away from him for three days, days where he spends most of his time wanting to run and fight and fuck bring that scenario up in his head often. If that meant no sleep and limping tomorrow, then so be it. He didn't want to let Gladio spend another full moon alone if he could help it.

Astrals, he is so damn lucky to have a partner as amazing as Ignis. The reassurance does help, and he presses a kiss to the corner of his mouth before he lets him go, because they still have to get to the apartment.

"I'm lucky to have you, don't think I don't know that." He smiles, and when they start walking again he keeps his arm around him. Even if it slows them down a little, it's worth it, but it really doesn't take them too much longer to get back to their place.

...but he has to know. "So, how long have you been thinking about it?"

Having Gladio pressed close to his side might slow them down a little, but there's no sense of lingering out there like Ignis normally would. There's an energy to their pace now, Ignis' hand almost possessive where it rests against Gladio's back.

"I've always been curious what it would be like to be with a were, even before we started a relationship. Since then... I long since learned to hate the thought of you having to deal with it alone."

The two of them together in the quiet street is nice, too early for weres but too late for more normal people to come out. He listens, intrigued, and hooks his thumb through one of Ignis' belt loop.

"That so? I've never really heard about anyone really trying before, but if anybody can work it out, it's you."

On top of that, he's a little warm at Ignis thinking about him like that. Always caring after others. Their building looks up ahead and Gladio reaches for the door, opening it. When it shakes with too much force, Gladio look properly embarrassed, at least.

The shaking door was met with a soft chuckle and this time, he made sure to close it behind them, already reaching for his keys to let them into their apartment proper. He was glad the apartment was on the end of a hall since that meant quiet and in this case, less chance of a noise complaint ending up pinned on their door come morning.

He didn't speak again until he closed the apartment door behind them, quietly sliding the lock into place. As always, the place was tidy though thanks to Gladio being there, it looked lived in. If it was just Ignis, there would be no signs of daily life since he was tidy to the point of being said to be compulsive about it.

Keys went on the small table beside the couch, along with his wallet and anything else in his pockets before he finally turned to face Gladio.

"I know weres usually stick to their own kind, but I'm hardly a normal human either. I'm more a creature of the Court than human anymore. I know we can make it work."

Home now, Gladio starts the routine of taking off his jacket, his shoes, and once Ignis does the same he moved in to wrap his arms around the other, a pleased rumble escaping his chest as he nuzzles at Ignis' neck.

"We can. And look, even of this doesn't work, it's just a few days out of the month, it doesn't change anything else."

Because everything else is fine, as far as Gladio is concerned. Both of them have their hectic life with the crown, but they have been working through that for ages.

Ignis had just enough time to get his shoes toed off before he felt strong arms close around him. Sighing softly, he let himself lean against the warm bulk of his love, his head tipping to let him nuzzle his neck to his heart's content. Just being close to Gladio was soothing.

"It'll work. I'll make sure of it. I'd stay by your side for good if it weren't for our duty to the Crown."

"I love you so much, you know that?" Gladio murmmrrs against him. Even as one hand moves to work the buttons of that stuffy shirt, teeth nipping at the first sign of bare skin. "Even duty, both of our duty doesn't change that, Iggy."

The wolf part of him tells Gladio that he needs to prove such to Ignis, right here and now.

The press of sharpened teeth against his skin made Ignis shiver. He knew how gentle Gladio could be, and this juxtaposition just made that sensation all the headier. There was a low, murmured warning about not tearing his shirt, though they both knew the closet was stuffed full of others almost exactly like it and deep down, Ignis likely wouldn't care. Oh, he might huff and fuss about it, but that was the Ignis the public saw, not the private one he kept tucked away for Gladio.

"I know and I love you for it."

Gladio murmmers an affirmation, sucking a mark dark on Ignis' skin. His clawed hands work on the shirt, and occasionally one of the buttons pop, especially with how he gets to the end and starts to fumble a bit.

"Mm, didn't mean to, but I'll make it up to you. You know I will, babe." He does let him go though, at least enough sense left to leave the living room, maybe. "Should get into the bedroom, tho, cuz I might not let you up again."

There was a low huff as he heard a button skitter across the floor, but it was clear he was teasing. He knew Gladio was good for his word and don't think the warning wasn't taken seriously. He pulled away from Gladio with a parting caress of a lingering hand before moving to head to the bedroom, shedding clothing along the way. If he didn't, he'd possibly end up with Gladio owing him more that just a new shirt.

Once he was in the bedroom, he was down to boxers and socks and not a strip more. There was a pause to see if Gladio had followed, even though deep down, he knew he'd be there.

"You'll have to let me go sometime, love."

Gladio had followed, and worked himself out of His tight pants on the way there with a slight growl of frustration. Left in just his boxers and tank top. His legs and arms have darker hair on them then before, and even the brief glimpse of the area the band of his boxers and the hem of his shirt has a dark trail of hair to it.

And Ignis, Ignis is gorgeous in front of him. Another time Gladio might give him a look that was more besotted, but now it was much more hungry.

"Sometime, but not anytime soon." Moving up to him, one hand sliding around Ignis' waist and the other into blond hair, his mouth brushing against his own. "But for now I don't, and once I'm in you, all the way to my knot, I'm gonna be there for a good long while."

His eyes are bright and piercing, more gold than their usual color, but for now Gladio was still with Ignis, and not simply just the werewolf he was."

Ignis chased Gladio's lips with his own, quietly demanding a kiss even as he shifted closer, leaning up into the contact. The hand in his hair never failed to pull a happy noise from Ignis and now was no different and damn if Gladio didn't use that little trick to push Ignis further into his own desire.

"Do you think I can take it? All of it?"

He wouldn't deny being a little apprehensive about the idea of taking Gladio's knot, but he couldn't deny the heady draw of it.

"I know that you're damn well gonna try, because that's how you do things." The kissing is great, but Gladio moves to sit on the bed, hand on Ignis guiding him along with him. "I want you to do what you need to. What you want to. I can handle it."

Gods, how did he get so lucky? Gladio smiles and reaches up to tug the other in, onto the bed with him before rolling over and pinning Ignis to the soft bed beneath him.

"Alright Iggy, just let me take care of you." He growls, finally pulling his own boxers down, to his knees then kicking it off of the bed. Less self conscious about how his changed body with the lust he feels, especially when he wants to drag his mouth all over Ignis' body to put his sent onto him, which he does so right away.
