It wasn't uncommon for Ignis to be out late at night. Between his work and keeping an eye on his charge, nights were definitely something he was used to, though most would say he was a creature better suited to the sunlight. Most of the time, he just offered those that dared say anything a cool stare and his back as he moved on past them. It wasn't really him being rude. He simply didn't have the time for such silliness. Not when there were always things to do.

On nicer nights, he would walk himself home from Noctis' and tonight was no different. The moon was close to being full, if not already full, and the night was pleasantly warm. The walk might be longer than most would like, but he enjoyed the chance to have some peace and quiet while mulling over the business of the day. Court politics could anger the calmest among them and the chance to think things through had left Ignis better able to handle such things.

Breakfast was something that younger Ignis usually went without. Oh, he chided Noctis when he tried to go without or grab something unhealthy, but never really took his own advice. It took time for all of his beloved friends to wear him down and convince him to start taking better care of himself (and to understand that caffeine was not a food group that he could survive on).

It took him a few minutes, but he finally started to wake up, and the more awake he was, the more he tucked into his breakfast even though he offered up quick bites to Gladio, clearly used to sharing with his lover.

"I'm not sure I'm ever going to get used to this sleeping in nonsense. I feel like I've wasted the morning."

... it was barely past 8 and Ignis was fussing.

"Not a waste if you spend it with me, Iggy."

Rumbled out happily as the man eats offered bites. Their days start early so he can't fault him for the time, but they have all morning and afternoon to spend just to themselves. And Gladio intends to make the most of it.

"Better yet, not a waste if you're spoiling me either."

Few would ever think someone like Ignis could be content, but few ever got to see this side of him. Their precious little 'family' did, more often than most, and while recent events had turned Ignis' life upside down in so many ways, he was starting to settle into his new life as a were. Gladio had been such a huge help to get him to that point and while he knew the big man was aware of his gratitude, he went out of his way to try and find ways to express it as much as he could.

Once his second cup of coffee was done, he shifted enough to properly kiss his mate good morning, the rest of his omelette forgotten for the moment.

"Mm. Do you need spoiling?"

Gladio is finished eating by the time Ignis moves around to settle in his lap, a happy noise escaping as he sets his hands on his lover's waist. Ignis has enough Ebony in his system to be his normal self, but the mood has left them both soft and generous to each other.

"Mm, from you? Always." Half lidded eyes peek up at him, softness that he only shows Ignis and his family in hazel eyes.

"You're the only one I want to be spoilrd by."

That look from Gladio was enough to make his chest ache. Their love was no secret to anyone that really knew them, but Ignis knew that no one really knew how deep it went. Even now, after years together, Gladio could still make his breath catch and not just sexually. When he was a younger man, that depth of emotion frightened Ignis since he was always one to be so orderly and self-contained. Now, he relished every moment he could just be with his lover, no expectations being held over him.

Sighing softly, he reached up and let his fingers drift along the scar on Gladio's handsome face.

"I certainly hope so. I don't like to share."

"I know baby, you're as bad as me."

He chuckles softly, nuzzling into his touch as the man traces over his scar. He presses a kiss into the pad of his finger before nipping at it lightly, skin to skin except for the boxers he was wearing. It was so very nice just to have him there like this, and Gladio was enamored with the man more and more each day.

"But you don't have to." Another bite, a little more strongly now. "And you never will."

"Good."

The word was a low purr, sounding almost sinful in Ignis' rich voice. His eyes were locked on Gladio's lips now, a slow smile curling his as he teased his love by pulling his fingers back just a tiny bit.

Gladio does so love that pretty voice of his, the way it can change amd cause a shiver down his spine as those green eyes focus on him and only him. His hands tighten on the man's hips and he tilts his head to vye for a kiss, letting Ignis give or deny to him however he wanted to.

"Besides, I like being yours. You know just how to make me feel good, how to wear me out." It was true after all, and if Ignis was going to spoil hin now, Gladio was going to compliment him a bit for it.

When his hand moved again, it was to cup the side of Gladio's face as he leaned in, giving him the kiss he was seeking. In public, Ignis wasn't very affectionate save for quick, glancing touches and soft smile and glances. In private, he was the opposite. He loved touching Gladio, even if the contact wasn't meant to seduce. There was something settling about the feel of his mate's warm skin and the way he felt under Ignis' knowing fingers.

"I'm sure you're the one usually wearing me out."

"Mm, It can be pretty fifty fifty sometimes."

But Gladio is not here to argue, instead enjoying his lover's touches. He rumbles happily into the kiss now and licks the coner of the man's mouth when they pull back teasingly.

"Of course, we could always continue this back in the bed, my love."

"I suppose we could."

A slow smile teased at Ignis' lips as he let himself lean back even more, stretching like a big, lazy cat. If that happened to let him wriggle a bit atop Gladio's lap, then so be it.

That wiggle makes him growl playfully, and his hands slide from Ignis' hips to underneath his behind, getting ready to pick him up and cart him off to their nest.

"Unless you've got a better idea, babe. But I can't think of much, unless you're planning on making me sit back and let you do all the work."

The smile inched a bit higher when he felt those strong hands settle under his ass. This time, when he leaned in, he dropped a quick kiss to the tip of Gladio's nose.

"That would mean keeping your hands to yourself and we both know you can't do that."

"Mm. Luckily enough,I don't have to."

He laughs, and then hauls his mate up as he lifts himself out of the chair. It's one of the rare times Ignis is taller than him, but they both clearly do not mind. He bites at his chest with a playful scrape of his teeth. As he walks them to their bed.

"But I wouldn't mind if you tied my hands up either. Especially because it's you."

There's a low chuckle from Ignis as he wrapped his legs around Gladio's waist, a hand rising to settle heavy in Gladio's hair. A moment later and he tugged at the dark strands, pulling his lips away from his chest only to lean down and offer up a teasing nip to his lips.

"And if I want your hands all over me?"

Gladio leans back against the wall before they reach the bedroom, taking a moment to just kiss and be kissed by his mate. To take him in and his scent that told him so much. His love, his need, his happiness and most importantly that little bit of Gladio that hung about him to let everyone know.

"If that's what my mate wants, that's what he gets." Gladio murmmers, eyes a bright color much like his wolven side. "I suppose the real question is if you want me sweet or rough Iggy."

He tilts his head back, letting his hair be pulled by the man. Whatever way he wants Gladio, be it on hands and knees with the man behind him or sweet, gently pressed into the bed, he could have it.

There was something primal about seeing Gladio as he was now, this brilliant, loving, feral side of him but Ignis knew so very well that his lover had so many other things to offer. His strength belied a gentleness that few could ever fathom and if they heard about it, they'd likely laugh. After all, the big man was well known for his strength.

Humming under his breath, Ignis leaned in again and this time, the kiss was slow and searching as his legs tightened around Gladio's waist.

"Such difficult choices. I do love it when you're rough with me but your softer side is such a lovely thing to witness. Perhaps that would be best since we're expected to join the rest of the pack this evening. I'm not entirely sure I could walk properly if we continue on as we have been."

Gladio's hands gently pet against bare skin despite not leaving his ass, holding him up as each gentle kiss brings his amorous side further out. Which is perfect, because until they have to go see the pack tonight. He wants to keep Ignis all to himself.

"Of course, my love. I know you want to make a good impression."

Finally he pulls away from the wall, making it into their bedroom and settles them both down into their bed turned nest. Ignis on top of him.

"And I will be by you side all night." He nips at his pretty pale neck, bringing marks from last night back to life. "With my eyes only on you."

It's all too easy to tip his head, sighing his approval as Gladio pulled the fading marks back to vivid life. His hands spread out as he settled, fingers easy as they traced along Gladio's muscles, his own desire there and simmering low with each touch.

"If you're going to lead the pack one day, then you'll need to pay attention to something other than me."

Settled now, Gladio's hands slide up the man's back, over wiry muscle in his beautiful mate's build. He can small his want and knows his own need shows, even in how he presses up against the other, hips rolling underneath Ignis.

"I will then, but not now." Not on his first full moon with his mate. Ignis, who he adores and intends to be with for as long as he lived. "Right now is just fot us, my Ignis."

And Astrals, he needed to be with him, inside him soon.

Instinct pushed him to arch back into those knowing hands, groaning softly at the familiar drag of callouses against his skin. He can't count how many times he'd felt that same contact, but now, it was different. They'd been close before, close enough that Ignis would've married his lover if the timing was right and Gladio asked, but now, that connection felt soul deep. There was a drive in his soul, a desire to see Gladio grow into his role as leader and mentor and protector. He wanted to see him grow grey headed, their home full of laughter and light and love and family...

... that wasn't something Ignis had thought about before his shift. Before he'd truly become Gladio's mate. He hadn't even thought of things like family or something other than his duty, but there it was, some selfish little kernel of want burrowed deep in his soul that he could no longer deny.

"We've had so much time just for us, love."

Gladio was going to build his life with Ignis. Ever since they had become a serious relationship, past the initial shyness and learning about each other, he had known that. Ignis had not been a were back then, sure, but Gladio had fought for them hard to the point where it was easy to see for those who knew them that Ignis was so good for him. Gladio would have lived a human life with him no problem, no matter what it had meant to give up. And Ignis had known that every step of the way, because their love was more than just their backgrounds.

But now, now he does not have to give all that up. His mate, his love can be by his side in these things as much as outside of it.

"Just a little more..." He murmmers, face nuzzling bare skin as he finally lays Ignis back, kissing along bruises from before. His large form settling over him, cock heavy and insistent between those pale thighs, encouraging Ignis to feel to let him in and feel his very real love all over again.

"My time with you, just for you, I want a little more."

As if Ignis could say anything different about himself. The greed of his body was written in the way his legs slide a little further apart, the way his hands grasped at Gladio's skin, sighing his approval even as he chided him for wanting so much. There'd always been a bit of a separation between them before, Ignis quietly on the sidelines as moons came and went but now that he was going to be pack, there was no more separation. No more need to be apart. Now, he could stand by Gladio's side in all ways for good.

A rumbling purr answers Ignis' words, not denying the truth, but how could he even think of wanting to deny right now? He leans into him more, kisses pressed open and needy to the man's mouth as his free hand finds the lubricant they had been using on the side table.

"For you. Only for you." Gladio had agreed to making this something soft, so when his slick fingers do find his mate. He is gentle in opening him up for him. Wanting it to feel good over and over again.

Compared to their usual lovemaking, this was something gentle and easy. Each quiet moment like this made Ignis fall more and move in love with his mate. There was careful consideration in Gladio's touches, each one pulling a soft sigh from Ignis. It was the sound of a content mate even if he didn't realize it yet.
