That actually did get a brief look of surprise across Noctis' face. Gladio and Ignis had...? Huh. Surprise melted away into a sort of sadness because the idea of Ignis guarding his heart so deeply that even Gladio wouldn't be able to get in... it hurt. Was it because of what happened before he had been sucked into the crystal? Something after?
"...Why?" Quiet, barely heard over the crackle of the fire. "Why not let him in?" If anyone out there could have, wouldn't it have been Gladio who could understand the sort of pain Ignis had been going through?
Noctis can't even imagine the possible real truth, that Ignis' heart belonged elsewhere.
