Ignis knew that when he went to face the pack, there would be no doubt as to who he was meant to be with. There would be no courting offers because there would be no need. Their connection would be crystal clear to all, in scent and marks and attitude.

There was a low noise of displeasure when he felt Gladio pull back out of him, fingers grasping at him even harder now as he leaned against his, his face burrowed against the side of Gladio's neck. It didn't last, though. Just as Ignis was about to pull back to truly voice his frustration, Gladio thrust into him hard enough that it stole away his breath. He choked out a sharp cry, clinging to Gladio as his back took the brunt of the counter's edge but right then, that didn't even register. All that Ignis felt and knew was his mate, taking up all his senses.
