And he would be. Ignis might look frail to those that really didn't know him, but anyone that did knew better. He was all trim muscle, lean to the point of being wiry, but he was tough and resilient and he knew he could handle whatever Gladio gave him. He hadn't failed so far, after all.
Of course, there was no promise other than his reassurance that he'd be fine. The last thing he wanted to do was have to subdue his lover, especially when he knew that rational thought wasn't likely his strong point.
